Alkali Metals

My group is in 2nd period science and we have Alkali Metals. Alkali Metals consist of Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Cesium, and Francium. The Alkali Metals are solids. Some physical properties of Alkali Metals are that they shininess, ductility, and malleability. Some chemical properties of Alkali Metals are that sodium reacts strongly when exposed to air or water and sodium needs to be stored under oil in a sealed container. Also, when Alkali Metals usually react by losing electrons to other elements. Alkali Metals are used for a healthful diet (potassium) and are the energy in batteries (lithium). Interesting facts about Alkali Metals are that potassium is highly reactive to water and most of the sodium is found in seawater and salt beds. Also, some of the Alkali Metals are so soft that they can be cut by a plastic knife.
